Dear Fellow Kin in District Two
Happy New Year!
I hope that all of you have followed up with schools in your communities, informing them about Kin Canada Bursaries. There is less than three weeks before students must have their applications to clubs.
It's not too late to send a notice to your local media to remind them about the deadline - Feb. 1st.
Please think of students who could benefit from a $1000 bursary in your community. Every club should send an application - due at Kin Heaquarters by March 1st.
And A FINAL REMINDER if you are interested in becoming a trustee on the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund go to the Kin Canada website and download your application form today!
Please think about a donation to HREF -you will be supporting our future leaders!
Thank you for your continued support!

Best Wishes to all as we enter this July 1st weekend and celebrate, "Proud to be Kinadian".
We so enjoyed the camraderie and well run meetings in Portage la Prairie earlier this month. Thank you Murray Lapka and all Portage Kinsmen and Kinettes and Gladstone Kinsmen. Congratulations to Governor's Sid and
Colleen on a fantabulous year.
This summer when you get together with your friends,be it at the lake or at work - talk about Kin and the great Service Work we are doing in our towns and cities and the fun that we are having. Summer is a good time for recruitment - oh my I'm starting to sound like our friend Gord Patterson.
We are happy to welcome to the Kinship team Pat Muldowan and Colin Edwards as vice governors. They have selected a strong team and we look forward to their input and support this year.
Hopefully, we will see many of you at National Convention in August as we celebrate being "Tacky Tourists" and enjoy the fellowship of District 5 and the beauty of the Province of BC and the
NorthWest Territories.
Have a great summer.
Happy Sailing
Barbara and Rob

Spring Zones are here and Roc Kin 2 in Portage is right around the corner.
Greetings from Thunder Bay!! We are awaiting spring and looking forward to meeting our newly elected Deputy Governor's. Our DLS (District Leadership Seminar) will be held in Winnipeg the weekend of the 25- 27th of May at Kin Centre. Our facilitator who is "the best" is our own Governor Colleen Moman. It is a great weekend jam backed with "learning, making
friends and having fun"
Barb was able to attend Geraldton charter along with a band of friends. The hospitality of Geraldton was terrific and a tired, happy, inspired group made their way back to Thunder Bay, Winnipeg and further west. Barb will travel to Boissevain to welcome some pretty enthusiastic gals in the west. These charters are happening with the support and hard work of Membership Director Gord Patterson, Gov's Sid and Colleen and the DG's of Zone 4, Greg and Anna, and Zone 6 Brandt and Wanda. What a team!!
Thank you to the charter clubs for their support at chartering and in the future.
Rob is always busy, sitting as District Risk Manager and Insurance guru. Another great honour for Rob and D2 - Rob ...

We have just returned from Vice Governors’ training at Kin Headquarters and it was a 3-day weekend jam-packed with education, fellowship and leadership opportunities.
While in Cambridge, we traveled to Simcoe, a small town in SW Ontario and had the privilege of visiting their Splash Park, which won the National Service Project Award for 2006. We talked of all the service that takes place in District 2 and really want to encourage clubs to put together submissions for our District Service awards.
Our team is in place and looking forward to presenting our budget at our District 2 Midterm. We are spending this year learning and listening to our District Governors and Council in the hopes of having continuity and strong District planning for the following year.
We look forward to FLC, Monster Mash in Thunder Bay and hope to see many of you there. We know it will be an excellent opportunity for education and fellowship.
We would welcome your comments and ideas at any time this year.
Together we can “Charge It Up!” and next year build “KinShip 2 Our Future”.
Your Vice Governors
Barbara and Rob
