We had the privilege of attending a National Board Meeting at Kin HQ where the Board and District Governors met together for the day. Wow, what a brain trust we possess in this wonderful Association!
We talked about identifying our "product", the ideal of what Kin is all about.
I suggested the following Value Statement: “Kin Canada - a national association of Clubs that believe in making a difference to communities by providing community service using modern business techniques, in a respectful environment where members experience professional development and personal growth, while enjoying rewarding fellowship.”
Past National President Bruce Lloyd put it much more succinctly, “Kin Canada: At Your Service!”
Identifying the ideal Kin experience is the product we need to market as an Association – Nationally, throughout our Districts, and in every Club across Canada. Prospective and current members should expect a consistent (and positive!) experience no matter which Club they visit or join.
We each have a responsibility as Kin to contribute to a positive Club environment – for the sake of keeping our members, for attracting ...

Well Hello!!!
Congratulations once again to the Kinsmen and Kinettes of Vermillion Bay, Zone 3,our congenial hosts of a most
successful Fall Leadership. Our goal which was achieved by presenters, Gord
Patterson, Colleen Moman, Governor Rob, Cynthia Coooper, Brant Bessant and James Doerr was to provide education through humour and experience. With little business and emphasis on fellowship and education over 100 D2 Kin were moved by our Keynote speaker Heather Summerhayes Carious from New York who's father was the founder of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the sister of 2 CF siblings. The trip was certainly worth the journey.
We welcome all new members to our District, our Association and our Family of Kin. If you haven't invited a friend or associate to your club make that a priority. Kin Canada at Your Service. We do make a huge difference in our towns, cities, and our Country.
Rob and I attended the Kin Board meeting in Cambridge the 16th and 17th of November at Kin Hdqtrs. the meeting was a positive learning experience with great dialogue among the Assoication Directors, Governors, Past President Bruce, VP Doug and ...

What a great convention for District Two!! Many thanks to our hosts, the Portage Kinsmen & Kinettes and the Gladstone Kinsmen. From the opening Hospitality Room and First Timers Reception on Thursday, to the Governors' Ball and final Hospitality Room on Saturday, we were treated to some good old prairie hospitality Kin style. Our newest club, the Boissevain Kinettes, took home the Costume Award along with the Kinsmen, for their group potatoe theme - those are must see pictures!!
Congratulations to our incoming District Governors Barb Thomson and Rob Kozak - they officially take the reins on July 1, and will attend National Convention with us in August. Joining them on the District Team will be newly elected Vice Governor Colin Edwards (who is looking for Kinette partner as we speak - any takers?). We wish them the best of luck with their 2007-2008 District Team - Kinship II the Future.
What a worthy group of submissions we had for our Awards Program this year! Some of the winners will be advancing on to National Convention to represent District Two in August, so stay tuned for an update on those results. For now, you can check out our District Award winners ...

Welcome to our newest 17 Kinettes and the second Club Charter this year - The Kinette Club of Boissevain! CF Day, May 5, was a great day to officially initiate these new members into Kin. About 80 people gathered, including Kin from Melita, Killarney, Neepawa, Gladstone, Brandon, Stonewall, Winnipeg, Vermilion Bay, & Thunder Bay, plus the local MP, MLA, Deputy Mayor, & service group reps. Letters of congratulations were read from across Canada, toasts were given, members initiated, the new club executive installed, gifts presented from many Zone 6 clubs, and after the new Charter was presented, the dancing & celebrations filled the night! It is even rumoured that one Boissevain Kinette earned her Sunrise Sister Award after being a Kinette for only 12 hours! A very full day considering the new club held a garage sale & BBQ fundraiser earlier on Saturday. Welcome to Kin in District Two!
The fifth District Mailing was sent out to clubs earlier this month following the completion of all Spring Zone Meetings. Please review the resolutions & agenda for convention, then send in your proxy form to be sure your voice is heard. If you haven't registered for the Portage ...

WOW! Where has March and April gone? With the last 2 Spring Zone meetings this weekend, the plans for District Convention June 7-9th are well under way. Hey, let's not forget, we have another charter to attend. Next weekend, May 5th, is Charter Night for the Boissevain Kinettes. Can you believe it? We will honor 18 new Kinettes into the family of Kin. These Kinettes are just as excited as the Geraldton Kinettes to join our family of Kin. Membership is flying through the roof! Three charters in the Associtation this year and we are fortunate to have two in our District. Great effort, DMD Gord and the rest of District 2.
The month of May is CF month. Have your club dedicate the proceeds of a fundraiser to CF. Let's help the fight with our contributions for research and a cure.
