Toot your Horn District 2! Share your project ideas and show Fellow Members the heart of Kin....Service. PLEASE fill out a Toot Your Horn page and read about Service from clubs throughout the District. Forms are available at our Spring Zones or immediately email me @ hezzit@hotmail.com. Hopefully soon to be available on line. The Toot your Horn Form gives fellow Kin an opportunity to hear about your project success. Every member of every club who is involved in a service project and shared their experience will get a horn for District Convention. We want to make a great loud happy sound!
The purpose of this Service initiative is to get our District talking proudly of all the Service we do. At our team's recent midterm executive members tooted their horns.
Excerpts will be available on line.
Yours In Service

Fellow Kin,
This is the time of year when we truly strive to meet the communites greatest needs. Please consider donating food, money or time to those less fortunate than yourselves during this Holiday season. Research across our District shows that there are more people struggling with basic needs such as food, shelter, and survival, now than in recent years. Many people have become reliant on volunteer dollars and time to meet their daily needs for existence. Is your club, zone or district addressing these needs in your community? I would love to hear about you service projects and gifts to others during this time of year. Please write me at hezzit@hotmail.com
Please consider making a donation to Cystic Fibrosis during this time as well. These children get the GIFT of LIFE! What could be more amazing than that.
I hope to hear from you all soon,
Yours in Service,
Heather Kozak

Our goal for Cystic Fibrosis fundraising this year is $100,000. We have done it before and we can do it again. I do believe we can achieve this as a District. We have already received several thosands of dollars to date. Please contact me if you need any new information or assistance with fundraising initiatives. Lets show the CF community that we are here until the cure or control is found!!!!

What an amazing Fall Leadership Convention in Vermillion Bay! It is an honour to represent District 2 as your Service Director this year. Service highlights included having a wonderful speaker Heather Summerhayes Cariou. She is the author of Sixty Five Roses-A Sister's Memoir. She spoke passionately about Kin canada and the importance of maintaining sustained support for those individuals suffering from this deadly disease.
Many participants took the time to read about and sign their donor cards. Remember, it is particularly important to express your wishes to your love ones. There are still 1000's of people waiting for an organ transplant in Ontario and Manitoba.
Check out our calendar for exciting events including El Salvador CF Fundraiser (January 21st, 2008), Kin -CF Day ( Saturday May 3,2008) and the Great Strides Walk (Sunday May 25th, 2008.
I am so excited about our great fundraising year!!!
Yours in Service,
Heather Kozak
